Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a clinical approach to help you regain functional capacity after injury, relieve muscular pain conditions, and get you back to the life you were meant to live. Doctors of Physical Therapy are specifically trained to identify your underlying physical impairments—mainly weakness, flexibility and joint stiffness —that require a more personalized road to recovery.

Anyone feeling limited when participating in normal day-to-day functions, exercise, or sport and recreational activities due to pain or other symptoms can benefit from physical therapy. An ideal candidate for PT is someone who is motivated to reach a functional goal – i.e. hiking a 14er or competing in a cycling race – but is limited by pain or injury to their musculoskeletal system. Physical Therapy is the missinglink to achieve that goal.

You can expect to be taken through an individualized program that addresses your unique needs and goals. On your first day, your physical therapist will listen, observe movement, and examine your body to create a more complete picture of your injury and underlying dysfunction. This introductory session will conclude with an explanation of your treatment plan, what to expect going forward with physical therapy, and instructions for any exercises you can begin performing at home.

From this point on, your treatment should be thought of as a partnership between you and your therapist. Your Physical Therapist will guide your recovery – thus ensuring completion of your next big race, competition, or recreational activity.
